Paula Young Shelton is our November 2022 spotlighted author. She is an accomplished author of several children’s books and the daughter of civil rights pioneer, Ambassador Andrew Young. Her first book Child of the Civil Rights Movement was released in 2009 and is her story as the daughter of Ambassador Andrew Young and of her experience as a child of the Civil Rights Movement in Atlanta, Georgia. Paula’s newest book Just Like Jesse Owens is by, icon, Andrew Young as told to Paula Young Shelton. She recounts the story as told by her father. Paula is a recently retired educator from the Washington, D.C. area where she taught for over 30 years.
